Clinton Flats is located respectively at two... buildings, 30 and 40 Clinton Street, Newark NJ. 30 Clinton was built in 1919 and has recently been fully modernized to offer tenants the best in urban living. This six-story building encompasses 13,800 square feet with a rooftop terrace. It offers 20 studio and one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment units. 40 Clinton has also been fully modernized while still maintaining its upscale historic charm. Built in 1914, this eight-story 18,800 square feet building boasts 27 well-appointed one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment units.
Both properties include high ceilings, hardwood flooring, ceramic tile, and an all-in-one washer/dryer. Gracious kitchens have stainless-steel appliances, a slab backsplash, and white Caesarstone countertops.
Tenants enjoy several on-site amenities and conveniences, including secure building access, state-of-the-art video surveillance and intercom system, basement storage, trash chute, two lounges, two fitness centers, and a rooftop terrace at 30 Clinton Flats. The USPS currently occupies the first-floor retail space.
Just a short walk from the Prudential Center, the property is well located near a host of entertainment and dining options, and the City’s many tourist attractions. Newark’s transportation infrastructure and access to major highways make it ideal for those commuting to New York City and other business centers throughout the tri-state area. Newark Penn Station offers express train service to New York City in just 20 minutes, and residents are just minutes away from Newark Liberty International Airport. The sky is the limit when living at Clinton Flats!
Monthly rent includes water, sewer, garbage disposal, and use of amenities if any. The tenant is liable for all utilities servicing their apartment. All applications are subject to a non-refundable $50.00 credit check fee upon submittal of an application. All leases are subject to credit review and income approval. An additional $50.00 monthly pet fee and an additional $500.00 pet deposit are required when applicable.
NOT LUXURY :( Unsafe Building With Negligent Management
Current tenant here....do not rent this building. Management prioritizes cosmetic appearances, but the building is poorly constructed and constantly breaking. Tenants have gone months without heat in winter, windows are drafty, and maintenance is ignored.
The building is UNSAFE the front door and intercom are always broken, security is nonexistent, and management rents units as Airbnbs, so there are constant strangers coming in and out. Elevators are filthy and frequently out of service, cleaning is inconsistent, and package theft is common. This place should be shut down until it’s properly fixed. Not worth the rent with this poor management property. Paramount Assets know they are doing a poor job with management and have NO EXCUSE to respond to this review when they cant even respond to all their tenants.

DO NOT RENT HERE!
I’ve been trapped in this building for two years, and management refuses to allow me to break the lease despite ongoing, serious issues. They market this place as “LUXURY,” but it’s anything but. The gym is in a basement with poor air quality and a constant mold smell, broken equipment is never repaired, and amenities are essentially unusable.
Security is nonexistent!!! access doors break regularly, homeless have entered common areas, and package theft is common. Maintenance requests take months or are ignored entirely, and property management is unreachable by phone or email, even during emergencies.
This winter, management failed to care for the building and turn on the heat, causing pipes to burst and flood all floors at 2 AM. Tenants were left with damaged apartments, ruined belongings, and no water! management offered ZERO assistance or compensation and could NOT be reached.
On top of that, elevators frequently break, appliances are undersized and ineffective, and deliveries are a nightmare due to poor access. Paramount Assets charges luxury prices for a poorly maintained, unsafe building and shows no concern for tenant safety or comfort. Do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere.

Great value with a view
Clinton Flats has a better value, quieter location, bigger space, and more beautiful view than my last apartment in the area. It was an easy choice for me to make!

Highly Recommend
The units here are beautiful with high ceilings, which make the space feel open and bright. The management team is excellent — whenever I have an issue, they’re very responsive and get back to me the same day. It’s been a great place to live!

My partner and I fell in love with our apartment in Clinton Flats! From the views, the lighting, the antique rustic windows, high ceilings, and the amenities — everything is amazing!
